51. 비구는 빨아먹는 소리를 내면서 공양해서는 안 된다.
A monk must not eat making sucking sounds.
52. 공양하면서 밥 넣는 손을 핥아서는 안 된다.
Must not lick one's feeding hand while eating.
53. 공양하면서 손가락으로 발우를 박박 긁어서 먹으면 안 된다.
Must not eat by scraping the bowl with fingers.
54. 공양하면서 혀로 입술을 핥아서는 안 된다.
Must not lick the lips with tongue while eating.
55. 먹는 손으로 물 잔을 잡아서는 안 된다.
(음식이 묻은 먹는 손에 의하여 물 잔이 더러워지는 것을 방지하기 위함이다.
마찬가지로 음식을 뜨는 숟가락이나 차관(茶罐), 접시 등을 잡아서도 안 된다.)
Must not hold the drinking cup or glass with the feeding hand. This is to
prevent the cup or glass being dirtied by the feeding hand soiled with food. It also applies in holding the serving spoons, tea kettle, and serving
plates.
56. 밥알이 있는 발우 씻은 물을 마을에 버려서는 안 된다.
Must not pour water that had been used in washing the bowl, together with grains of rice, in the village.
57. 우산을 쓰고있는 사람에게 설법해서는 안 된다.
Must not preach any person holding an umbrella.
58. 지팡이를 쥔 사람에게는 설법해서는 안 된다.
Must not preach any person holding a stick of club.
59. 칼 종류를 가진 사람에게는 설법해서는 안 된다.
Must not preach any person holding sword of any kind.
60. 활이나 무기를 가진 사람에게는 설법해서는 안 된다.
Must not preach any person holding a bow or weapon of any kind.
※ 57, 58, 59, 60에서는 아픈 사람이라면 가능하다.
** Rules 57, 58, 59 and 60 are pardonable if the person is sick.
